The committee has successfully completed the discernment phase, where we got a great deal of thoughtful and insightful input from many members of the St. Olaf community: alumni, faculty, staff, students and others who are interested in the success of St. Olaf. They gave us ideas about what a successful president looks like, what the characteristics of that person might be. And in some cases we got specific suggestions of people whom we might interview.

Now we are reviewing and interviewing candidates. We completed our first long meeting in that process on Dec. 1. So we continue to be on track to have a new president in place by July 1, with the likelihood of a president-elect being named sometime in the spring.
